Our company is looking for a Pastry Chef to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Roll, knead, cut, or shape dough to form sweet rolls, pie crusts, tarts, or other products;
  • Work in a team environment with a high degree of professionalism while handling multiple priorities to produce efficient service;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Plate items as requested during meals and suggest pairing desserts with wines, cocktails, and other dessert beverages;
  • Create desserts based on themed events;
  • Responsible for/in charge of the pastry program in its entirety. “Pastry” includes all baked items, dessert, breakfast, and brunch;
  • Supervises to maintain superior cleanliness and organization of kitchen and equipment;
  • Be Proficient in Cake Making;
  • Ensure all safe food-handling procedures are being demonstrated at all times;
  • After receiving each week’s BEO, responsible for creating detailed production lists and assigning tasks to pastry cooks each day;
  • Ensures all food is prepared and served in a timely, organized, and efficient way;
  • Creation and production of CLE shelf stable food for retail sale;
  • Responsible for establishing a labor budget and sticking to it weekly;
  • Responsible for streamlining and scaling all recipes, new and old;
  • Performing stages at restaurants chosen by herself and Owner.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a pastry chef or similar role;
  • Minimum 4-years supervisory or culinary management experience preferred;
  • Must have a passion for farm-to-table cuisine, a love for the kitchen, and a strong desire to lead our pastry team;
  • Experience working as a assistant pastry chef or similar role;
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of the kitchen area. Prepping, cooking, baking;
  • Must be meticulously clean and aware of all food safety standards;
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler cards as required by local or state government agency;
  • Must have an extraordinary palate and strong interest in food trends and quality;
  • Self-motivated and self-sufficient;
  • High volume;
  • Must be available to work on different shifts, weekends, and holidays;
  • Dependable and hard-working;
  • Working in a time efficient manner to ensure oven schedule is adhered to;
  • Must have excellent knife skills and cooking techniques, ideally with experience in cooking exceptional pastry for very large groups;
  • A genuine passion and knowledge for food and pastries.
