Our company is looking for a Pastry Cook to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Display and set baked products on mobile carts according to specifications;
  • Develop new products for a-la-carte and catering menus, as needed;
  • Ability to learn, understand, and to execute daily recipes and menus;
  • Preparing mise en place for daily service;
  • Preparing desserts, pastries, confections, ice cream and other related items;
  • Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience;
  • Read food tickets and prepare food following company and sanitary standards;
  • Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers;
  • Roll, knead, cut, or shape dough to form sweet rolls, pie crusts, tarts, croissants or other products;
  • Identify staffing needs and help to recruit, hire and train pastry cooks;
  • Guide and motivate pastry cooks to work more efficiently;
  • Manage and prioritize tasks by shift;
  • Operate, maintain and properly clean kitchen equipment, including, food processor, mixer, oven;
  • Working in a learning environment with room for professional development and growth;
  • Operating in a clean workspace and producing top-quality desserts to support the pastry team.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in multi-tasking in dynamic situations;
  • Basic English reading and communication skills;
  • Baking/Pastry degree or relevant high-end restaurant experience;
  • Knowledge of weights, measurements, volume and cooking procedures;
  • Dedicated to working with a team towards one goal;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of the kitchen area;
  • Highly adaptable to various situations and stress levels;
  • Great work ethic and committed to being the best;
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed;
  • Continuous bending, reaching and twisting;
  • Ability to work effectively within a team;
  • Ability to work in elevated temperatures;
  • Continuous use of hands and arms;
  • Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment.
