Our company is looking for a Registered Nurse RN Behavioral Health to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements nursing plan of care for assigned patients and conducts and/or co-leads group therapy sessions for patients;
  • Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems;
  • Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team;
  • Collaborates with the treatment team to revise goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the changes in patient status;
  • Performs initial and on-going physical and psychosocial assessment according to accepted standards of nursing practice;
  • Carries out physician orders;
  • Instructs and educates patients and families;
  • Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs;
  • Maintains a safe environment using monitoring devices and restraining techniques where deemed necessary;
  • Functions as a therapeutic member in planning and working with patient groups;
  • Executes nursing procedures according to policy, utilizing the nursing process;
  • Maintain professional attitude and appearance;
  • Functions as a medication nurse;
  • Serves as a clinical resource person for staff members in their daily activities;
  • Assumes responsibility for professional development and ongoing education.

Requirements:

  • American Heart Association CPR & First Aid certification preferred;
  • Graduate of accredited school of registered nursing;
  • Knowledge of milieu management;
  • Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families;
  • Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, and interventions with patients;
  • One year inpatient psychiatric experience with adults and/or adolescents preferred;
  • Ability to safely implement Special Treatment Procedures;
  • Ability to assist with education patients and families in medication and care management;
  • Current North Carolina State Registered Nurse License;
  • Ability to accurately administer medications and treatments;
  • Ability to monitor and record response and side-effects to medications and treatments.
