Catastrophe Modeling Analyst Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Catastrophe Modeling Analyst to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and analyze data trend analysis;
- Running catastrophe models for portfolio risk analyses and monthly portfolio modeling;
- Assisting business units in the understanding of catastrophe risks, sensitivity studies & added analytics;
- Develop and support the relationship underwriters and the offshore modeling team;
- Providing real-time loss estimates of actual catastrophic events;
- Preparing individual property insurance data for catastrophe risk analysis.
Requirements:
- Skills in MS Word, Excel including VBA, Microsoft SQL Server, and some programming knowledge is preferred;
- Experience with data visualization and mapping tools (e.g. Spatial Key, ERSI Arc Map, Tableau) is preferred;
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required;
- 2+ years catastrophe modeling experience required;
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical, economical and statistical concepts;
- Experience of Catastrophe Modeling Software (AIR or RMS);
- Quantitative and analytical skills required;
- Ability to process and understand data quickly and creatively.
