Our company is looking for a Director of Athletics to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Attends regional conferences and association meetings;
  • Maintains, oversees, and works with the Booster Club (Varsity Club) officers and facilitate events that promote the athletic department;
  • Hires and confirms all of the proper officials contracts for home contests league, non-league and playoff games, matches or events;
  • Plans and executes programs including orientation nights, awards ceremonies, guest speakers, etc;
  • Requires some evening/weekend work hours;
  • Serves a member of the CIF Eligibility Committee;
  • Maintains a relationship with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) and renews contract each year;
  • Maintains and updates athletic pages on the school’s website;
  • Administers the school athletic code in a fair and consistent manner that is within the intent of the code;
  • Maintains consistent SD branding across uniforms, fan apparel, and facilities;
  • Provides routine, accessible and comprehensive communication to all community members on a variety of matters related to the athletic program;
  • Hires, develops, and retains an engaged and responsive coaching staff;
  • Serves as a member of the Administrative Council, frequently providing updates regarding the athletic program;
  • Maintains rental and leasing agreements with off-campus athletic facilities;
  • Monitors the independent athletic program in grades 9 through 12 for physical education credit.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment;
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of athletics issues as they relate to administration of college athletics programs;
  • Successful managerial experience and providing effective feedback;
  • Ability to raise funds through the marketing of athletic facilities and programs;
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service;
  • Master’s Degree in athletic administration or related field;
  • Exceptional leadership and flexibility;
  • Collegiate coaching experience;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers;
  • Master’s degree preferred;
  • Experience developing and implementing multi faceted assessment plan in athletics or related area;
  • At least three years school leadership experience;
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Familiarity with NCAA and Division III athletics;
  • Collaborative mindset and effective consensus-building skills.
