Division Controller Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Division Controller to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight, direction, and coordination of MM’s quarterly forecasting and annual planning;
- Provide oversight, planning and forecasting of the division’s annual capital plan;
- Provide information necessary to support MM’s ongoing tax calculations;
- Provide oversight and guidance on quarterly financial reporting items;
- Review and approve inventory accounting controls;
- Change management champion seeking to drive internal process improvement and operating efficiencies;
- Coordinate and compile quarterly and annual financial accounting and disclosure checklists;
- Provide guidance to Corporate Accounting on division-specific accounting and finance related matters;
- Support acquisitions, divestitures, and/or business reorganizations;
- Prepare and present a quarterly business review to the CFO;
- Prepare monthly variance analysis commentary for actual results vs forecast;
- Ensure proactive communication with Partners regarding the collection of data required for corporate reporting or other related needs;
- Serve as the Accounting strategic partner to assigned office locations;
- Identify and offer solutions for training/development needs including individual and leadership training needs;
- Establish relationships as the Accounting strategic partner & Controller for assigned office locations.
Requirements:
- 6+ years professional hands-on accounting experience, including supervisory experience;
- BA/BS in Accounting;
- Experience using JD Edwards and/or Enterprise One (E1) is a plus;
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP;
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills;
- Strong working knowledge of Excel;
- Excellent writing and communication skills;
- 10 plus years of financial leadership experience, preferably in a service-based company;
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance;
- Experience in the homebuilding industry is a plus;
- Accounting experience with master-planned developments or communities;
- Excellent writing skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
