Principal Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Principal Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Be a role model in living the Amgen values and leadership attributes;
- Design, qualification and implementation of packaging designs;
- Identify and ensure area of responsibility complies with the most current standards and company policies;
- Identify resource requirements to deliver on program portfolio and negotiate resource assignments from leadership;
- DTL lead for molecule programs driving packaging strategy and milestone to the PDT;
- Deliver progress reports and presentations ensuring that management is aware of the current status, progress and future needs within Operations;
- Pursue packaging technologies that will drive innovation and gain efficiencies in the network;
- Consistently deliver results aligned with departmental and program goals;
- Author regulatory documents in support of molecule applications;
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, designers, and developers.
Requirements:
- BS degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience;
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience;
- Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale, high quality systems and software products;
- Highly developed technical perspective and architecture and system design ability;
- Entrepreneurial and strategic mindset, thriving at the intersection of technology and business;
- Ability to track project costs and work within a budget;
- 3+ years defining high-level design for one or more business domains;
- Project management experience. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously;
- Problem-analysis and problem-solving skills; quality orientation and attention to detail;
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other needed computer programs;
- 5+ years of experience developing business applications;
- Bachelor’s degree;
- 5+ years of experience in packaging design and layout of manufacturing equipment (food a plus);
- 3+ years of experience interpreting and predicting outcomes of existing business processes and current technology solutions;
- Demonstrated proficiency in understanding and executing enterprise architecture and software development life cycle methodologies.
