Principal Development Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Principal Development Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Detailed characterization and performance trade-off analysis of either GaN, Silicon, & GaAs-based RF modules & MMICs;
- Provides the Objective test specs for the key parameters, including the module, individual MMICs and packaging;
- RF module & MMIC component design and development using manual/ automated / simulated load pull to meet target performance;
- Leads characterization and test plan development and implementation as well as initial product data sheet generation;
- Design and simulation of matching circuits and topologies using state-of-the-art design tools ADS and/or AWR and ability to do EM simulations;
- Analyze & Present the data on the finished product to confirm performance to specification and any adjustments needed.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience with GaN, Si, GaAs or Wide Band Gap semiconductors;
- Education: BSEE required, MSEE preferred;
- 10 years+ experience required; 15+ years of related experience preferred;
- Prior experience with system and component design that operate in arrow and multi-octave bandwidths up to Ka-Band is;
- Proficiency in Cadence (Virtuoso, SpectreRF, ADEXL) preferred but not essential;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of packaging of modules and MMICs;
- Ability and willingness to provide program, customer and production support;
- Experience with supporting technical conferences and giving presentations on the developments within the area of expertise.
