Public Relations Intern Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Public Relations Intern to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Trend research;
- Compiling media coverage into client facing clip reports;
- Conducting customer interviews;
- Writing press releases and blog posts;
- Drafting pitches and press materials;
- Identify branding opportunities through research of key industry issues;
- Convert approved outlines into publication ready company PR copy;
- Identify and reach out to potential media channels and industry partners;
- Write effective press releases;
- Track and influence media coverage;
- Draft outlines for press releases and articles;
- Work with the marketing department to secure proper media kits and materials for press;
- Fully support and help in the execution of the company’s PR strategy;
- Strong writing and proofreading skills;
- Tracking media hits and compiling monthly reports.
Requirements:
- Ability to navigate and master social media and social networking sites;
- Detailed portfolio and either personal or professional work – ideally both;
- Ability to take accountability for your work (both good and bad) and receive constructive feedback for improvement;
- Strong writing, editing and research skills;
- Journalism majors a HUGE plus;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and deadlines simultaneously;
- College graduate, available to start July 2020/December 2020;
- Solid understanding of the different social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.);
- Ability to solve problems with critical thinking;
- A sharp eye for copy errors or brand management;
- Must have access to own computer and reliable internet (minimum of 5 mbps upload speed);
- Preparing news releases, bylined articles, award nominations, fact sheets, executive biographies;
- Highly self-motivated;
- Enhancing the company’s social media presence, corporate Web site, corporate Intranet;
- Can assist with preparation of press kits for distribution.
