Our company is looking for a Senior Director of Communications to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop communications skills and abilities of key staff;
  • Lead the building of a constituent insights program;
  • Optimize staff, freelance, consultant, and volunteer talent to carry out the communications and marketing strategies;
  • Coordinate website maintenance, ensuring that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly;
  • Put communications vehicles in place to create momentum and awareness as well as to test the effectiveness of communications activities;
  • Lead the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action;
  • Track and measure the level of engagement and response to communications among audience segments over time;
  • Perform special projects as assigned by the SVP and CEO.

Requirements:

  • Proficient understanding of content management systems and customer relations management technology (SalesForce, Luminate, Convio, Classy WordPress);
  • Proven track record in managing through complex issues to desired outcome;
  • Established experience working with C-Suite and Board level personnel, and in crisis situations;
  • Highly collaborative, proactive leadership style and mission driven;
  • A proven team builder, internal leader, talent developer and manager;
  • Strong experience developing and implementing patient-focused communications and marketing strategies using various platforms;
  • Advanced degree(s) in a related area or 10 years or more of evaluated experience desired;
  • Ability to work independently and thrive on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently;
  • Entrepreneurial vision, including creating and implementing new initiatives;
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business administration and/or similar degree preferred;
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience, including management responsibilities;
  • Understanding of Google Analytics and SEO preferred;
  • Comfort in building relationships, with the flexibility and finesse to “manage by influence.”
  • Ability to clearly interpret and distill scientific, clinical and commercial information;
  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication and problem solving skills.
