Senior Risk Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Risk Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provides bid/proposal support including cost estimates and plans;
- Implements risk management identification process for Projects and Proposals consistent with the MODEC RM system and procedure;
- Supports project management in the selection, assessment of Risk staff/consultants on their projects;
- Promotes a proactive risk identification and management culture to the entire Company organization;
- Participate with the Company’s credit and collection practices, including liens and payment bond claims;
- Develop and provide training on key issues relative to contracts administration and negotiation;
- Apply quantitative methods (SQL, SAS, Modeling etc.) to identify fraud patterns and suggest ways to combat that;
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners including operations, credit, sales and fraud teams to create business strategies;
- Provide monthly forecast on fraud and credit losses to Senior management;
- Provide guidance to the Engineering Department and Divisional Managers as appropriate to resolve contract claims and manage/minimize contract risks;
- Identify fraud and credit monitoring gaps and work with MIS/Reporting team to develop and build necessary reporting;
- Work closely with fraud vendor on troubleshooting and improving system performance;
- Apply risk subject matter expertise to the prioritization and planning of projects in conjunction with risk management policies and strategies;
- Oversee the Company’s contracting practices, including maintenance of internal contract administration system and negotiation of customer contracts;
- Manage the review/selection process for broker relationships and insurance carriers.
Requirements:
- Experience in providing risk management supporting Contractor Owned and Operated systems;
- At least 3 years of experience performing business analysis using either Excel or Tableau;
- Experience in managing and analyzing risks at the program level with operations, maintenance and logistics;
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- HS Diploma or GED;
- Must be a team player;
- Must possess a solid understanding of commercial credit/collections regulations and practices;
- Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience;
- 5+ years of experience with project management for DoD contracts;
- Law Degree (JD) and admission to a state Bar (preferably in ME, MA or NH);
- At least 4 years of experience working with internal business customers;
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to lead independently;
- Secret Clearance;
- Ability to work strategically with focus as well as prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic work environment;
- Familiar with construction contracts and associated risks.
