Helper Job Description

Helpers assist construction craftworkers, such as electricians and carpenters, with a variety of tasks. They may carry tools and materials or help set up equipment. For example, many helpers work with cement masons to move and set the forms that determine the shape of poured concrete. Many other helpers assist with taking apart equipment, cleaning up sites, and disposing of waste, as well as helping with any other needs of craftworkers.

Our company is looking for a Helper to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ride on garbage truck to assist the Driver service customers – will load refuse bags and bring containers to the truck for proper disposal;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned;
  • Clean the packer blade and truck body;
  • Deliver positive customer service interactions;
  • Assisting with vehicle maintenance;
  • Operate packing mechanisms and levers to activate the loading arm;
  • Directing the truck driver when backing.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of Forklift experience preferred;
  • High School diploma or GED, or 1 year of experience working in a steel shop in the construction industry;
  • None required;
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States;
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical;
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
