Our company is looking for a Information Technology Specialist Ii to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote high quality, scalability, and timely completion of projects;
  • Provide expertise in the update of existing security policies and development of new ones;
  • Provide expertise in creating policy compliance procedures including compliance measurement reports/dashboard for all security policies;
  • Perform peer code reviews and provide feedback;
  • Perform hands-on software design and development in Java;
  • Cross-train junior developers on product features that are implemented;
  • Code programs as per the technical specifications and unit testing, accurately and on schedule;
  • Work closely with management to determine feasibility of product features;
  • Develop and execute unit tests for product components;
  • Knowledge-transfer to and training of State Fund employee;
  • Become an expert in technical aspects of our products;
  • Define, implement and support database backup and recovery policies using RMAN and/or storage replication technologies;
  • Support, administer and maintain production and non-production database environments primarily running on HP_UX and Linux operating systems;
  • Provide advice/recommendations on database architecture, design and implementation solution;
  • Deploy and maintain high availability and failover technologies such as Cluster, Active Data Guard, RAC and data replication.

Requirements:

  • Active Directory;
  • Network: LAN, WAN, Internet, Proxy/Filtering, Firewall, VPN, DMZ;
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity;
  • Analyze data and situations, reason logically and creatively, identify problems, draw valid conclusions, and develop effective solutions;
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of the work;
  • Vulnerability Assessments;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with a network engineering focus;
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to visualize solutions;
  • Insurance Industry Experience;
  • 4+ years of software development experience;
  • Familiarity with XML related APIs including SAX and DOM parsers and XSLT;
  • Must be able to travel between VACAVILLE and PLEASANTON offices for meetings as required;
  • Proficiency with UNIX (HP-UX), Linux and VMware vSphere;
  • Extensive knowledge with complex SQL and PL/SQL programming and optimization;
  • Experience with Java or .NET entity framework and ORM is plus.
