Group Fitness Instructor Job Description

Group fitness instructors organize and lead group exercise classes, which can include aerobic exercises, stretching, or muscle conditioning. Some classes are set to music. In these classes, instructors may select the music and choreograph an exercise sequence. They may lead classes that use specific exercise equipment, such as stationary bicycles.

Our company is looking for a Group Fitness Instructor to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle member concerns when applicable;
  • Deliver pre-designed workouts to groups of 25 clients;
  • Coaches and motivate class participants to achieve fitness goals and continually monitors for signs of injury, illness or overexertion;
  • Accurately and consistently records hours worked and class attendance information submitted to the Fitness Manager in a timely manner;
  • Have a passion for CKO & the product we provide;
  • Inspiring our members with a yearn to return;
  • Set up rowers and explain class format for prospects and new clients;
  • Teach proper rowing technique to ensure clients have a safe and positive experience;
  • Ensure safety of clients in regards to rowing and exercise technique;
  • Understand and follow THE GYM policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of others;
  • Introduce yourself and the format of the class;
  • Solicit feedback from participants about the class;
  • Attend all required staff meetings as necessary;
  • Ensure that proper time recording procedures are followed correctly and in a timely manner;
  • Regularly attend group exercise team meetings and other club-wide/community meetings and events.

Requirements:

  • Expert time management skills;
  • Instructor must have AED / CPR certification;
  • Be available for on-site training Fridays 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm beginning February 14 – April 3, 2020 ;
  • A passion for fitness and health;
  • Pursue and complete MAX Challenge Instructor certification (paid by the company);
  • Ability to train at all fitness levels;
  • Positive and effective interpersonal communication skills;
  • Current CPR certification and basic first aid training is required;
  • Charismatic, passionate, responsible fitness-oriented professional with leadership skills;
  • Ability to pre-frame and close out the class with an inspiring message is required;
  • Must be available to teach starting at 4:30 pm during the week, weekday nights, weekends & some holidays;
  • Fantastic communication that exudes energy AND empathy.
