Principal Systems Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Principal Systems Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform verification and validation of EO/IR products;
- Plan and direct efforts of other systems engineers assigned to the project;
- Research, evaluate and recommend systems/equipment/technologies based upon customer needs;
- Technical presentations to both internal and external customers;
- Perform requirement elicitation, analysis and functional allocation;
- Responsible for leadership oversight and for ensuring Department/Team training;
- Supports system design, data analyses, interface verification, testing, failure/anomaly resolution and mission operations;
- Computer modeling and simulation of sensor physics and phenomenology;
- Implement and manage system requirements in the Requirements Management databases (DOORS);
- Other duties as assigned;
- Develop CONOPS, interface standards, system architectures;
- Provides data to risk management (identifies potential risks) and trade study processes;
- Present technical data and schedule to external customers;
- Conduct systems requirement reviews;
- Provides superior customer service with emphasis to the Enterprise Architecture consumers.
Requirements:
- Experience in risk management and risk assessments;
- US Citizenship and able to obtain DOD Secret Clearance is required;
- Experience in at least one of the following areas;
- A Master’s degree in a related discipline may substitute for two (2) years of experience. A PhD may substitute for four (4) years of experience;
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance;
- Customer focus and collaboration skills;
- Relevant work experience in signal processing and synthetic aperture radar or ground moving target indication radar;
- Eight (8) or more years of systems engineering experience required;
- Minimum Fundamental Knowledge, Skills and Abilities as stated in SNC’s Responsibility Matrix;
- Scrum process knowledge;
- Experience and/or familiarity with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Project required;
- Materials and Process Engineering,
- Experience with DISA STIGs;
- Ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance;
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
