Production Assembler Job Description

The Production Assembler I tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Assembles fabricated parts, components or units at floor stations. Being a Production Assembler I identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary. Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications. In addition, Production Assembler I may be required to complete an apprenticeship or on the job training. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a Production Assembler I possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Reads work orders and diagrams;
  • Uses manual hand tools to assemble metal cases for electronics;
  • Follow safety procedures while on plant premises;
  • Follow written procedures for department activities;
  • inspecting parts to ensure they meet Valeo’s quality standards;
  • Maintain open lines of communication with associated team members;
  • assembly of lighting components;
  • Maintain product traceability;
  • Conducts Inspections of own and /or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and /or customer drawing;
  • Maintain work area in clean, organized manner;
  • Working in a team environment to efficiently package required orders;
  • Handling finished materials and moving packages to storage areas within the warehouse;
  • NO Steel Toe Shoes required;
  • Light industrial assembly and manufacturing;
  • Actively demonstrates all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Must be willing to submit to thorough background check and drug screen;
  • Must have stable work history and can provide 2 recent supervisory references;
  • Cable/Harness Assembly in Aerospace and Military Applications;
  • Eye for detail;
  • Solder certified to IPC-A-610 Class 3 preferred;
  • Good eyesight;
  • MIL-STD experience preferred;
  • Ability to Read & Interpret Blueprints, Schematics, Traveler/Routers, Bills of Material & Wire Lists;
  • Familiarity with continuous-improvement techniques;
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills;
  • D365 experience is a plus;
  • Interpersonal skills;
  • HS Diploma or GED;
  • Clean Background Check and Clean Drug Screen;
  • Bending, stooping, twisting, and standing in one spot 8-10 hours.
