Our company is looking for a Sr. Quality Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements;
  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment;
  • Work with Supply Chain staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers;
  • Define quality procedures in conjunction with Operations staff;
  • Develop subject-matter expertise in the areas of product construction and processing methods;
  • Participate in Kaizen events and Lean initiatives associated with plant goals;
  • Maintain documentation in compliance with the QMS;
  • Provide consultation and any supporting testing and analysis for customer complaints to determine root cause;
  • Reporting and maintain all quality metrics (FPY, Reject, Repair, Customer Complaints);
  • Drives quality improvement in the manufacturing plants, the supply base and in the non-production areas;
  • Assists with the development of PPAP documentation for customers and review of supplier PPAP’s;
  • Maintains internal audit system and conducts internal audits;
  • Performs capability studies with Minitab software;
  • Provides support to Horton’s Environmental and Quality Management Systems (ISO 14001, ISO 9001, IATF:2016);
  • Provides supervision to technicians and engineers.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of prior experience in Quality/Technical/Engineering with direct plant responsibilities;
  • Experience with fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) preferred;
  • Test method development and validation experience;
  • Uses Quality and APQP core tools;
  • Strong analytical problem solving and decision making skills;
  • Ability to lead and be a contributing member of cross functional teams;
  • Proven success troubleshooting difficult problems within a manufacturing environment;
  • Submits formal project charters to initiate quality improvement projects and manages projects until completion;
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills;
  • Ability to travel occasionally 10-20%
  • Fundamental understanding of engineering principles;
  • Ability to handle multiple task assignments;
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection data and procedures;
  • Ability to translate quality requirements into product specifications;
  • Ability to interpret Regulations, Corporate, Division and Department Procedures.
