Our company is looking for a Toolmaker to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detail cutting tool geometry for different cutting tool types and materials;
  • Control machines that smooth flat and contoured surfaces, grinds and fits assemblies together, and into mechanisms;
  • Perform toolmaking function with all shop equipment (milling, lathing, precision grinding, polishing, and fitting) and make parts to print;
  • Procure or make jigs, fixtures, or machine attachments;
  • Disassemble tooling to determine cause of problems;
  • Perform heat treat procedure;
  • Notify proper persons when tooling is ready for production;
  • Select and grind tools in accordance with parts or materials to be machined;
  • Other duties as required;
  • Interpret complex blueprints and sketches and plan and determine working procedure;
  • Enter and look up needed information in computer;
  • Check and measure parts with use of precision measuring devices to assure quality specification and record quality check;
  • Program and modify programs in order to have machines perform various functions on metals;
  • Assemble, fit, align, and adjust finished production tooling and parts for production equipment;
  • Prepare packing material and package parts in preparation of shipment.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing, tooling, cutting tools, and machine parts;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • 6+ years’ machinist toolmaking experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Possess basic math skills and working knowledge of advanced shop mathematics, including trigonometry;
  • Graduation from certified Tool & Die Apprenticeship program preferred.
