Class B Driver Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Class B Driver to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Load, chain and bind equipment to truck;
- Record and report any damage to the equipment;
- Minor vehicle maintenance;
- Verify order paperwork for completeness and accuracy;
- Provide customers basic training upon delivery;
- Drive vehicles safely to and from warehouse and Market events;
- Reports any problems with vehicle operation to division transportation department;
- Drives van from central loading area to customer locations according to assigned schedule;
- Plan routes and meet delivery/pick up schedules;
- Maintain driver log (Manual or PeopleNet) according to DOT regulations;
- Inspect unit to ensure product is secure for undamaged transport of product;
- Monitor equipment condition and maintain equipment logs;
- Loads and unloads food items for customer delivery;
- Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery;
- Keeps records of trips and customer delivery receipts, and any exceptions.
Requirements:
- Local delivery experience preferred;
- Candidates must be open to work in a fast paced environment and willing to lift more than 50lbs;
- Must have at least 1-2 years recent Class A or Class B verifiable driving experience;
- Must have experience making deliveries in Southern California which includes Los Angeles and Orange County;
- Must have knowledge in all DOT laws and regulations;
- No restriction on the his license;
- Computer knowledge;
- 3 or less recorded moving violations or 1 accident and 1 moving violation within a 36 month period;
- Good communication skills;
- Commitment to company values;
- Good sense of direction (N,W,E,S);
- Must be able to pass all qualifications as set forth in Department of Transportation regulations, along with Ahern Rentals regulations;
- Required: Tank Vehicle Endorsement (N-endorsement);
- Must be able to pass drug test and background check;
- Basic computer skills preferred.
