Material Handler – 1st shift Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Material Handler – 1st shift to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Documents product shipment by recording units shipped;
- Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product;
- Prepare all necessary shipping documentation and ensure that shipments are tracked to destination;
- Package materials and equipment ensuring that shipping documentation is accurate and materials are protected adequately for shipment;
- Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units;
- Ensures shift change is completed and forms are filled out with accurate and appropriate information;
- Job Functions;
- Understands and follows plant safety and procedures;
- Safety;
- Must maintain pre-determined efficiency, standards and productivity rates;
- Manages receipts and issues of the raw material and manufactured components;
- Prepares and maintains accurate production records and follows SOP’s;
- Ensures quality operation of the process, performs quality checks and controls, including adherence to cleaning and maintenance;
- Avoids or prevents hazardous conditions from developing;
- Physically move product in the facility.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 1+ year(s) related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Experience operating PIT (powered industrial equipment) very helpful;
- High School or GED;
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks;
- Multi-tasking experience;
- Experience in logistics;
- Ability to operate a forklift required;
- CDL preferred;
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs. required.
