Job Summary

Reporting to the Human Resources Assistant Director, the Work-Study Student Assistant will provide general support and participate in a wide range of projects related to HR compliance, recruiting and onboarding processes, reporting, and general data entry.

Responsibilities

* Works within the HRM and digital filing systems, OneUSG Connect and OnBase, to enter in new data and help maintain existing candidate and employee information.

* Assists with the creation of campus communications and marketing collateral (i.e. brochures, newsletters) as requested.

* Answers front line phones and provides first-rate customer service to the campus community.

* Provides support for virtual and in-person programs (i.e. annual open enrollment, weekly Q&A calls, etc.).

* Participates and contributes thoughts and ideas during departmental meetings.

* Special projects as assigned by members of the HR and Payroll team.

Proposed Salary

The salary is $8/hourly. This position can work up to19 hours per week.

Conditions of Employment

All selected candidates are required to submit and successfully pass a background investigation to include reference checks and verification of academic credentials (if applicable). Other additional requirements may be required based upon specific position duties:

* A credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage;

* Pre-employment drug testing for positions with high-risk responsibilities;

* Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive a Columbus State University fleet vehicle or other vehicle designated as a fleet vehicle.

For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.

To be considered for a Student Assistant position, the applicant must be a current Columbus State University undergraduate student, taking at least six (6) credit hour courses per semester. Must be eligible for Federal Work Study.
