Summary of Job Duties:

The Southern Public Health and Criminal Justice Research Center (S-PAC) is seeking a full-time Community Program Manager. The Community Program Manager will work on S-PAC projects and help build a strong and sustainable coalition of regional stakeholders that work collectively to reduce health disparities in underresourced communities. The duties will include using best practices to develop health education materials and campaigns; working with community members to build infrastructure to support the elimination of health disparities; planning meetings to build collective action with stakeholders; working with stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans; working to build capacity; building and maintaining partnerships via various communications channels and developing trainings. The Community Program Manager will also help research teams with the following activities including developing scientific presentations and manuscripts; entering and tracking data; conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis; assist with process tracking implementation; maintain accurate records; assisting with the quality control and integrity of the data; conducting systematic searches on the Internet and via PubMed; and other duties as assigned. The Community Program Manager must be willing and available to travel and work with community partners. This is a grant funded position.

In this role the Community Program Manager will also administrate and coordinate community efforts related to a federally funded research study to promote health among vulnerable populations. The Community Program Manager will be responsible for participant recruitment and retention, engagement and coordination with community-based agencies, and community outreach. The Community Program Manager will develop standard operating procedures for these activities and operate in accordance with the goals and objectives set forth by the Principal Investigator and the funding agencies.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma/GED plus eight (8) years of related experience such as working with health education, social work, social services, health care systems, victims' services, mental health or substance use treatment programs or community-based programs/organizations or

* Bachelor's degree plus four (4) years of related experience such as working with health education, social work, social services, health care systems, victims' services, mental health or substance use treatment programs or community-based programs/organizations or

* Master's degree plus two (2) years of related experience such as working with health education, social work, social services, health care systems, victims' services, mental health or substance use treatment programs or community-based programs/organizations required.

* Valid driver's license and excellent driving record with reliable transportation and current automobile insurance.

Specific Experience:

* Must have previous experience of providing case management services to vulnerable populations in order to ensure the ability to build rapport and provide support to the program participants.

* Experience with facilitating collaborative partnerships, client assessment, treatment or action planning, conducting interviews, advising/counseling/mentoring clients, and participating in health promotion and health education activities.

* Intimate understanding of and experience working with the community served

* Minimum 2 years of research and management-related experience in a research setting to include the following: recruitment of study participants, knowledge of research data collection procedures, experience in study coordination, knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA, and IRB regulations for human research, and supervisory experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

* Serve as a member of the Study Management Team. A strong focus on teamwork, knowledge of community-based social, behavioral health, medical and other services, and the relationship between structural racism and health are requirements of this position.
