The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Division of Administrative Services, is recruiting for an Accounting Technician 3 position!
This position is in the GGU bargaining unit at a range 16.

What you will be doing:
You will provide support to the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management under the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) and be responsible for developing a wide variety of reports for grant assistance. As part of the DMVA team, you will provide exceptional support for Alaska's military and veteran population.

The staff of the Division of Administrative Services supports the work of each of our core divisions by providing financial, procurement, budget, and administrative assistance. You will have the opportunity to interact with team members from each of our core divisions and federal partners daily, and to problem solve emerging procurement and purchasing challenges daily.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position is located in the Alaska National Guard Armory on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER). You would work in a building that provides ample parking, security, paved trails for breaktime walking or jogging, an on-site, no-cost fitness center, and an on-site coffee bar and eatery.

Skill in identifying discrepancies and/or inaccuracies in data and making corrections;

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of technical level accounting or bookkeeping experience, of which at least one year was at the full-proficiency level.

Substitutions:
Certification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited college will substitute for one year of the required experience at the non-full-proficiency level.

Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for up to one year of the required experience at the non-full-proficiency level (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in Accounting.

Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required two years of experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 9 semester/12 quarter hours at or above the 200 level in Accounting.

An associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited college will substitute for the required two years of experience if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours at or above the 200 level in Accounting.

Additional Required Information

At the time of interview, you must provide:

A list of three professional references, two of whom must have previously supervised you.
Copies of last three performance evaluations or three letters of reference if evaluations not available.
