Job Summary:

The interim accounting team performs the accounting for partners not yet transitioned to a designated platform. In addition, the team supports newly acquired agency partners either performing the accounting daily or supporting the existing accounting staff until the agency partner is transitioned to the platform accounting team. During the transition period the team will work with the agency partner to implement processes, controls and deadlines to ensure they are in compliance with Acrisure accounting policies.

Acrisure is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Interim Accounting to join our dynamic team in the insurance industry. As a leading provider of insurance and other financial services, we provide exceptional customer service and maintain strong relationships with our partners. As a manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the interim accounting team and related projects. This includes overseeing team members' workload to ensure timely completion of daily tasks, technical training, and skills development. The manager will also perform regular 1:1s, annual check-ins and performance reviews. Oversight of this team includes assessing its strengths and weaknesses, determining capacity restraints and hiring recommendations as needed. Collaborates on continuous improvement initiatives and executes highly complex accounting related projects. This includes ensuring all duties of the team are completed accurately and timely. This role requires a strong understanding of insurance industry practices, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent leadership skills.

The ideal candidate must be hands-on, have excellent organizational skillset and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. We are a relationship-oriented business, and strong relationship and partnering skills are vital to this role. Previous leadership experience in accounting is required. Experience in the insurance brokerage or a related industry is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Leads the Acrisure Business Services Interim Accounting Process.
Follows up on projects and team assignments and holds others accountable for their internal deadlines and administrative responsibilities.
Sets clear deadlines and priorities for team to meet goals and expectations set by director.
Encourages cross functional acumen by having strong understanding of the partners' operations.
Reviews partners accounting procedures and processes in order to identify and determine what changes, if any, are needed in order to comply with Acrisure deadlines and accounting policies and procedures.
Strong understanding of the corporate and finance accounting processes.
General understanding of other corporate services (i.e., payroll, benefits, regulatory affairs, marketing, communications, legal, etc.)
Regularly communicates and collaborates with team, peers, leaders on best practices and standard work while escalating issues and concerns to appropriate management level.
Delivers holistic feedback to others about their job performance and career growth; coaches others to help them develop their careers.
Identifies staffing needs and allocates resources accordingly to meet current and future metric targets.

Stay up-to-date and in compliance with industry regulations and best practices. Implementing and maintaining procedures and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines.
Perform quality assurance reviews of team members compliance with Acrisure's accounting policies and procedures.
Identifies potential financial risks and raises these issues, along with suggested solutions, to director.
Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum (4) four years of experience in accounting, including receivable and payable experience
Insurance brokerage/related industry accounting background preferred.
Excellent knowledge of both operational and financial accounting.
A working knowledge of insurance-based management systems (i.e., AMS360, Epic, Applied TAM) is highly desired.
A working knowledge of Quickbooks and other related software.
A working knowledge of Workday software preferred.
