Summary

As a Transportation Management Specialist (limited supervisor) in the Office of Secure Transportation (OST), Office of Mission Operations (OMO), Agent Operations Central Command (AOCC), you are responsible for managing the movement, distribution, and safe and secure transportation of nuclear weapons, components, and materials from points of manufacture, storage, or use, to authorized destinations within the U.S. nuclear weapons complex via ground and/or air transportation services.

Duties

As a Transportation Management Specialist , you will:

Develops and promulgates short- and long-range program plans, strategies, and policies in the performance of air and road transportation of hazardous materials and cargos.
Ensures procedural compliance as it applies to air and ground transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
Responsible for preparations and planning to implement established operation plans.
Develops operational plans, goals, objectives, and milestones to assure effective convoy operations.
Communicates with various levels of management, and federal, state, and local agencies related to transportation operations.
Exercises full supervisory responsibility for a staff of 3 in the planning and integration of transportation activities.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A qualified candidate will possess one year of experience in the next lower pay band which demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the OST mission to effectively analyze and resolve critical transportation problems and provide agency and/or interagency advice through policy guidance on OST transportation activities. This is a secondary position which must include experience as a Nuclear Materials Courier that demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Transportation Safeguards System (TSS).

Examples of Specialized Experience:

Experience in managing, directing, and implementing policies that directly support the Transportation Safeguards System (TSS).
Experience supervising and directing TSS operations.
Experience developing, implementing, and managing policy related to transportation program activities.
Experience providing guidance and solutions related to transportation program issues.
