Duties

As a Lead Public Health Analyst (Policy) you will:

Ensure that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services.

Perform independent public health policy research, and or public health policy evaluation, as well as other programmatic activities to further organization's goals and objectives.

Develop and maintain systems to analyze complex and highly visible actions such as public health legislation, executive directives, Departmental policy issuances, voluntary changes in practice by influential organizations or groups, as well as other influential statements of policy with the potential to impact the activities of the division and center.

Manage the processes for the establishment and tracking of the organization's goal setting efforts and is responsible for the overall completeness and quality of a comprehensive plan.

Coordinate complex evaluation tasks such as the application of agency, department, and/or government wide evaluation efforts including PART or other inquiries, audits, or reports conducted by the Department and is responsible for ensuring completeness and quality of the organization's submissions to these efforts.

Prepare written analytic reports in support of major strategic planning and evaluation programs and initiatives for use by the organization's leadership including top management; as well as members of the leadership team and other federal agencies; state and local public health and environmental protection agencies; and other key partners.

Due to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) process enhancement to use Shared Certificates throughout the Agency, some of the requirements below may differ:

This position may be subject to the OGE Financial Disclosure requirements of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978 (P.L. 95-521). Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: leading, developing, advising, and implementing strategic legislative activities on public health policy programs.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
