We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Engine Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in St. Louis, MO.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Complete repairs and rebuilds on engine products in the field.
Develop productive customer relations and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
Apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
Assist with completion required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
Complete training in line with skill and business requirements
Ensure adherence to all meaningful Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

(Intermediate) Technician Level II: Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in-scope for a diesel technician at this location; primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair; some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, requires limited direct supervision, may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.
(Advanced) Technician Level III: Significant relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on most or all of products in-scope for a technician at this location; frequently engaged in complex diagnosis and repair; requires minimal to no supervision; ability to effectively train and guide less experienced technicians of varying skillsets.
Flexibility to work various hours and days of the week with the ability to be on call and available for emergency needs.
Must meet all requirements to drive a Company vehicle including a valid driver’s license and insurance.
Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds occasionally, wear required personal protective equipment as required.
Locally valid driving permit

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred).

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.

Locally valid driving permit.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Minimal level of workshop related experience required.

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.

Locally valid driving permit.

This position will require a Med-Card and we will also be required to complete a DMV driving report. This position will be part of the FTA pool. CANDIDATE MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD.

This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
3 years driving experience
This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age.

Product Repair and Maintenance - Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines, using required tools within standard repair time to ensure a quality repair; disassembles and assembles engines or power generators following guidelines, using required tools to ensure a clean and organized environment; inspects and replaces parts and components following re-use guidelines to minimize customers cost of ownership; performs progressive damage check following guidelines to restore to pre-failure condition.

Engine Systems Interactions - Interprets and analyzes the interactions of internal and external electrical and mechanical systems (exhaust, heating, cooling, fuel systems, driveline, aftertreatment, controls, sensors, etc.) by applying tools, service publications (Cummins, Original Equipment Manufacturer) and taking measurements to efficiently and correctly diagnose and repair.
