OVERVIEW & SCOPE OF ROLE:

The SITE MANAGER reports to the BU Managing Director and will lead the sites Site Leadership Team (SLT), in full compliance with the Morgan Responsible Business Programme. The SLT is made up of all key functions/departments that together manage the site. The reporting relation will vary by site, except for HR, Finance, Operations Excellence, and HSE which will have centralized reporting. The Site Manager will have full responsibility for meeting Sites P&L budgets, including but not limited to meeting Rev, GM, EBITA, and Cash targets. Site Manager will also have full responsibility for meeting Operational Goals, including but not limited to, OTD, Arrears, Yield, DPPM, & Inventory. The Site Manager is expected to achieve the above through active participation and deployment of the Morgan Production System. S/he will create a strong culture of active leadership to manage the operational business, deliver positive employee relations, establish operational effectiveness and achieve attractive returns. S/he will create an environment where effective two-way communication is the norm and employees safety is ensured; striving for continuous improvement in all business areas. They will represent the site positively to all key stakeholders including customers, suppliers, local authorities and the public. The Site Manager is responsible for leading the various teams on site to safely deliver the committed results in terms of sales & production output, to budget and agreed KPIs. Responsibilities: Responsible for the following site areas: Production / Quality / EHS / Purchasing / Maintenance / IT / Production & Process Engineering / NPI / Operational Excellence / Despatch & Goods Inwards / ERP Legal Responsibility Act in the capacity of Managing Director for the Site Finance Deliver profitable sales revenue to committed budgets, performance improvements and cost reduction targets in order to contribute to overall Engineered Ceramic KPIs & targets Manage Production costs including labour and materials to achieve or exceed budgeted levels in order to consistently drive profit growth as agreed with General Manager Analyse possible business risks and mitigate the identified risks by implementing corrective action plans Work proactively with Finance Leaders to ensure compliance with financial, legal & regulatory procedures, laws and other requirements Operations & Excellence Responsible for working with Operations & Excellence team to deploy and build Morgan Production Systems (MPS) as defined by these 5 key pillars; Strategy Deployment, Organizational Development, Leadership Commitment, Lean Tools, & SIOP. 1st MPS Pillar - Work with GBU Team, Operations & Excellence, and SLT to drive the process for development of X-Matrix/Strategy Deployment (SD), within the site, using LeanDNA to manage and realize broader operating savings through the execution of strategic projects to assure fiscal year targets are achieved. 2nd MPS Pillar - Work with GBU and local leadership to build and prepare Site Leadership Team (SLT) through Organizational Development (OD). 3rd MPS Pillar - Work with the SLT to set and lead strong support for Operational Excellence and MPS. 4th MPS Pillar - Work with Site OpEx Leader to deploy tactical lean tools within Morgan Production Systems Framework. 5th MPS Pillar - Develops and deploys a SIOP program within the framework of the MPS Framework. Support/Manage transformation projects necessary to enable the achievement of significant Cycle Time Reduction, COGS Reduction, PPV and efficiency improvements (waste reduction) particularly as defined by Strategy Deployment (1st Pillar) Work with OpEx GBU team to ID and launch Cellular Product Family Value Streams (VS), including but not limited to, building the VS team, cellular lines, dedicating resources for flow, and balanced line. Identify, train, enable and position effective Value Stream Managers. Assure that complete and current value stream maps (current and future state) are maintained and annually refreshed on a regular basis. Assure that annual improvement plans are current and linked back to the product family value streams Regularly ID and attain physical flow for the high run products of that account for the largest percentages of annual profit margin Support & help Identify and recommend Value Steam specific and company-wide improvement initiatives and opportunities through SD. Lead and/or coordinate Kaizens and similar team-based improvement initiatives. Work with site teams to establish a daily, weekly, & monthly Daily Group Accountability (DGA) process regiment around key KPI performance and improvement per MPS DGA Standard Work. Encourage, build, & lead Site Root Cause Problem Solving projects to improve site metrics in all areas of the business. Lead/actively sponsor OpEx efforts to drive key MPS Processes; Yields, Productivity, Visual Management and Material Flow through facility Works with Operations & Excellence GBU Team to develop and improve MPS for cascading to other BU & GBU sites. Drive ERP System full functionality to assure in systems planning, standard costs/hrs accuracy to drive productivity, and launched Advanced Scheduling & Planning. Manage and control Site expenses within budgetary guidelines including overtime and inventory levels for all Departments. Develop, recommend and justify capital expenditures to executive and financial staff Assure future capital assets align to the defined future state value streams Meet all FY Financial and Operational targets as defined in current year budget. Strategy Lead development, implementation & maintenance of near to mid-term site strategies in order to create a cohesive unit, responsive to increasing demands and changing market dynamics Assist with development of an annual Operational budget as requested to assist in delivery of business objectives and year on year improvements in the performance of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery & People Business Development Manage the introduction of new products and pro-actively work with Sales, Engineering, Technical and Quality teams to ensure Operational capabilities match current and future customer requirements.
