The selectee of this position serves as a Administrative Support Assistant (OA). You will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical support duties.

Duties

As a Administrative Support Assistant (OA) at the GS-0303-6 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:

Receiving and screening calls and visitors to the office.
Receiving, reviewing, coordinating, maintaining, monitoring, and recording a variety of civil and criminal case actions and necessary documentation.
Utilizing office automation equipment and various software packages to accomplish work.

Qualifications

GS-6 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-5 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-6 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).

You may qualify at the GS-0303-06 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Reviewing and maintaining files for consistency and compliance with established rules and regulations; 2) Preparing, reviewing, and reconciling recurring reports; 3) Responding to questions from internal and external customers concerning office procedures and regulations; 4) Modifying, collecting, and reporting data from databases and spreadsheets; and 5) Utilizing Microsoft office suites to draft correspondence, record data, present information, etc. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
