The Emory Proton Therapy Center is the only proton center in the state of Georgia and Winship is one of only 30 inaugural U.S. cancer centers that are selected as a Lead Academic Participating Site for the NCI’s National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN). Additionally, opened in May of 2023, the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown was designed to deliver a unique model of cancer care that places patients at the center of specialized care communities bridging outpatient and inpatient care and integrating groundbreaking research into preventions and treatment. Winship investigators conducted over 640 interventional and therapeutic clinical trials and enrolled more than 900 patients in 2023. Winship has the largest unit in Georgia for phase I clinical trials , which are important to introducing new therapies against cancer. Winship works with the Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education (GeorgiaCore) to partner with community-based physicians to expand availability of cancer clinical trials throughout Georgia. The ENPDC is an accredited provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The Emory Nursing Experience (ENE) is another partnership between EHC Nursing Education and the School of Nursing that provides quality, continuing nursing education (CNE) activities to practicing nurses. Through ENE, nurses have access to evidence-based coursework developed by Emory’s world-class faculty, designed not only to help licensed nurses fulfill renewal requirements but also to further their careers and continue to provide high-quality patient care. ENE coursework is provided by the ENPDC. Additionally, part of EHC’s focus on advancing healthcare includes providing a clear path of career advancement for nurses. The Candidate Experience and Essential Qualifications A minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing or health system leadership and 10 years of progressive nursing experience is required, preferably in a complex academic health system. Oncology nursing experience is required; experience at an NCI Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center is preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion for the populations served and within a hospital or health system. Demonstrated experience with innovation and performance improvement principles and processes related to nursing and patient care delivery.
