Responsibilities
Deliver direct patient care in the emergency department for patients across ages using the nursing process.
Conduct comprehensive assessments, monitor status, and develop, implement, and adjust care plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and monitor telemetry; respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, case management, and treatment teams; participate in discharge planning and patient/family education.
Document care and interventions accurately in the patient record; uphold patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice.
Requirements
Current California RN license in good standing
BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications required
CPI/TEAM or TEAM-A or equivalent conflict management programs required
NIH Stroke Scale certification required
At least two years of recent ER or acute care nursing experience
BSN degree preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital ER environment and meet travel assignment requirements
