Phlebotomist - Full Time Evening
Alan B. Miller Medical Center - Palm Beach Gardens, FL. The role involves obtaining blood specimens from patients, performing venipuncture and capillary puncture, and following laboratory policy on patient identification and specimen handling. Responsibilities include providing care to patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics, cross‑training in additional roles, and floating to other departments as needed. The phlebotomist recognises signs and symptoms of stroke, calls a stroke alert, verbalises the stroke alert process, draws blood for a stroke panel, and delivers specimens to the laboratory on stroke alert patients.

Responsibilities

Obtain blood specimens from patients via venipuncture and capillary puncture.

Follow laboratory policy on patient identification and specimen handling.

Provide care to patients from neonates to geriatrics.

Cross‑train in additional roles and float to other departments as needed.

Recognise signs and symptoms of stroke, call a stroke alert, and verbalise the stroke alert process.

Draw blood for a stroke panel and deliver specimens to the laboratory on stroke alert patients.

Qualifications

High school diploma; technical school or Associate of Applied Science or AS degree preferred.

1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required within 6 months of hire.

Phlebotomy certification required.
