Job Description Become an Educational Assistant at St. Michael Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year and make a difference everyday! 3:00PM-4:00PM After School Care

Educational Assistant
Promote the mission of Bishop O†Gorman Catholic School
Tutor/support students in all academic areas
After School Care
Provide and maintain a safe environment for children
Understand and apply child development to situations
Guide children in a positive way
Provide choices, allowing children to problem solve, etc. Reserve the use of “time out” for when children need to regain control as opposed to a punishment.
Maintain and follow current lesson plans and goals, matching the lesson plan with the age, skill and developmental level of the children in the classroom
Provide regular and varied outdoor/big room activities. Bring materials in these areas to create new play interests.
Complete the required training
Willingness and ability to effectively make known the Catholic Church’s teachings through the varied ministry activities expected of this position
Willingness and ability to act as an outstanding personal witness to the Catholic faith and religion by living both one’s professional and personal life in accordance with the doctrines and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, as embodied in the various documents of the Roman Catholic Church, including, without limitation, the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church
High school education or equivalent
Some post higher training in education preferred
Works well with children
Knowledge and comfort level verbal and math skills up through middle school
Basic competency in computer skills
Resourceful & creative to proved adaptations for students
Strong planning and organizational skills
Ability to speak English clearly
Fine hand motor skills to include and not limited to keyboarding, writing, grasping, holding, and repetitive motion
