Material Handler/Material Handling Operator
Department of the Air Force
Duties
Responsible for organizing and coordinating an effective receiving/storage operation.
Performs tasks involved in issuing and shipping items.
Operates fork lift trucks and automated material handling and identification equipment to move, stack and unstack, load and unload, bin, and position material.
Drives one or more types of trucks, such as pickup, panel and flatbed trucks, which typically have gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or less, on public roads at highway speeds.
Maintains records and documents actions.
Performs material handling duties, including the use of tools and other equipment, in a safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures, and complying with established safety rules and regulations.
