A globally leading consumer device company headquartered in Cupertino, CA is looking for a Mechanical FEA Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will use understanding of mechanics, materials and numerical methods to play a key role in predictive engineering and directly impact the success of new products.

Perform nonlinear static and dynamic finite element analysis using Abaqus, ANSYS, or equivalent CAE tools.

Develop structural, thermomechanical, and heat-transfer models for consumer electronic products and components.

Build and validate models for materials such as polymers, elastomers, adhesives, and brittle materials using physical test data.

Analyze simulation results, identify potential failure modes, and recommend design improvements to enhance product performance and reliability.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and external vendors to communicate findings and support product development and validation.

3+ years of experience in FEA in large-volume consumer electronic industry.

Experience in running non-linear static and dynamic Finite Element Analysis using Abaqus, Ansys, or equivalent CAE packages. Expertise in structural, thermomechanical, and heat transfer modeling.

Experience in modeling of different classes of materials including polymers, elastomers, soft adhesives, and brittle materials.

Experience with calibration, verification, and validation of models through physical testing.

Preferred Skills: Proficiency in Matlab, Python, and Abaqus User Subroutines is a plus

Experience with using CAD tools such as NX, Solid-works is preferred.

Additional expertise in fracture mechanics, adhesive materials, electromagnetic, acoustic, and CFD is preferred.
