Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8-5 (Some evening and weekend hours)

Do you love meeting new people, traveling, and helping students find their perfect college home? You will need great time management skills as this position is on the go much of the time either with recruiting events, presentations, appointments with students or other daily activities. Maintaining your relationships with local schools & other recruiters as well as the students/families you meet is crucial. Recruit from the comfort of your community (& home in Dallas/Fort Worth area) while working for a leading urban-serving public university in the nation.

At WSU you are not just recruiting—you’re helping students find their future. Primarily responsible for recruiting prospective students from a set territory outside of Kansas. In addition, serves as the lead recruiter for certain high schools and/or community colleges.

Recruits students outside of Kansas in designated schools and geographic regions, which includes follow-up with recruits by phone, mail and other personal communications streams to meet weekly and monthly recruiting goals. Develops and implements recruitment programming for students, parents, and counselors. Works with campus departments to coordinate recruitment programs. Represents the University at specified schools, college and community fairs, public presentations, and/or seminars outside of the normal recruitment territory. Contributes to overall recruitment efforts for the University, particularly in areas outside of direct responsibility. Facilitates office coverage and participates in on and off campus recruitment programs, including group presentations; greets walk-in and scheduled visitors; Markets scholarships and participates in selections process when appropriate. Regional recruiter is responsible for representing the university and working with prospective students in their area. Bachelor's degree in education, business or related field

One (1) year of experience in recruiting, admissions or related field

Required License/Certifications/Training
Commitment to diversity with successful experience working with diverse populations.

Obtain functional knowledge of Office of Admissions procedures, processes, and protocols.

Knowledgeable to work with WSU’s information systems & understand the functioning of admissions data.

Capable of self‑directed time management with limited supervision to complete needed duties both for scheduled events with local area schools & WFH settings.

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to move, transport, and/or deliver items, supplies, or equipment.
