Physiatrist Physician (Physician )

Overview

Physical Therapy Rehabilitation and Lymphedema Team Member is a licensed physical therapist who works within the oncology team structure to offer outpatient rehabilitation and lymphedema services. Services are provided at SSCBC as well as other James Ambulatory sites and may require travel during the work day. Team members report to the Rehab Services Manager as part of the overall James Ambulatory Services structure.

Responsibilities

Each rehabilitation team member is part of a group effort to provide care within a continuous performance improvement environment and is also a distinct professional who provides specific contributions to the team approach. Team members assess patients and establish plans of care, provide a wide variety of treatment techniques, provide education and support to patients and families, and facilitate continuing care planning. They evaluate quality of services and participate in outcomes management activities. The Physical Therapy Team Member in rehabilitation and lymphedema in the SSCBC Oncology Rehabilitation Department will also have advance knowledge in the treatment of oncology patients and will be competent in the evaluation and treatment of lymphedema with complete decongestive therapy (CDT, MLD). Team members report directly to the Rehab Services Manager, but are also responsible to each other, to those they supervise (physical therapy assistants and volunteers), and to other participants in patient care activities, including attending and resident physicians, nurses, their support staff, Social Work and Patient Care Resource Managers to assure coordination of services and programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited school, or equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Currently licensed in the state of Ohio as a Physical Therapist.
• 0 years of relevant experience required; 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
