Police Officers & Law Enforcement Officers

Job Objective: To patrol an assigned district in the City of Little Rock in order to enforce laws and ordinances.

Safety Sensitive: This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

Holiday Premiums up to 4% of annual salary.

Shift Differentials.

Second language incentives available to qualified candidates.

Educational Incentives payable immediately after Academy graduation. Payments begin at 15 college credit hours and increase up to $2,254.04 annually for graduate degrees.

Current active law enforcement Basic certification.

Valid Arkansas Class “D” (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and maintained throughout employment.

Meet any other requirements established by the Little Rock Civil Service Commission and the State Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training.

Applicants that are Certified Police Officers will go to the background investigation step (written exam and physical agility testing is NOT required for certified officers).

Prior felony conviction - Expunged and/or pardoned felonies still disqualify candidates from employment as a Police Officer.
