Welcome to August The Mansion, a historic and iconic dining destination in O'Fallon, Illinois. Established in 1857 as a family farmhouse by August Wastfield, our restaurant is a cherished historical landmark. After extensive renovation and under new ownership, we are preparing for a grand reopening in March 2024. We are seeking passionate individuals to join our team and provide a casual upscale dining experience serving New American cuisine.
Job Summary: As a Host, you will create exceptional experiences by welcoming guests, seating them, and ensuring they enjoy their visit.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
Provide menus to guests.
Assign patrons to suitable tables, managing rotation for server efficiency.
Inform guests of current promotions and introduce them to their servers.
Manage guest flow into dining and bar areas, providing wait times when appropriate.
Answer phone calls and take reservations.
Keep the host stand neat and presentable.
Complete side work for smooth operations.
Collaborate with team members both front and back of house.
Qualifications:
Previous restaurant hosting or serving experience preferred.
Friendly, customer-focused personality.
Clear communication of greetings, farewells, and guest requests.
Ability to communicate guest needs effectively to staff.
Good telephone communication skills.
