Phlebotomist – We Train

The ideal phlebotomist is patient, reliable, and truly committed to keeping our donors comfortable and happy.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist in determining the suitability of donors.

Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while safeguarding donor confidentiality.

Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.

Monitor donors and equipment to ensure the health of donors and the quality of the product.

Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.

Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.

Occupational Demands

Work is performed in a plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids, potential exposure to infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment, extreme cold below 32 °F in the plasma freezer, and personal protective equipment such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear are required. Work involves standing for 6 to 8 hours per day with occasional bending, twisting, and foot movements. Light lifting up to 15 lbs (maximum 50 lbs) and reaching below shoulder height may be required. Hearing acuity, color perception, near vision, and far vision must be correctable (20/30 for one eye, 20/100 for the other). Ability to comprehend and follow instructions verbally or in writing is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated pay scale for the Phlebotomist role based in California is $21.24 per hour . The position is eligible to participate in up to 4 % of the company bonus pool. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, up to 5 % 401(k) match, and tuition reimbursement. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skill set, knowledge, the location of the role, internal equity, and market data.
