Senior Civil Engineering

HDR is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services group in the Kentucky/Tennessee area. In this role, you will design and plan a wide variety of commercial and industrial projects, including site planning, grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and other civil infrastructure activities.

Design and plan production for commercial and industrial projects.

Prepare specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.

Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluating, selecting, and modifying standard engineering techniques and procedures.

Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in a specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity as needed.

Function both independently and within HDR project teams.

Serve as a Project Manager on larger projects, though project management is not the sole focus of this position.

Experience with Microsoft Office applications, MicroStation, InRoads, and other civil engineering software.

Strong operating knowledge of Civil 3D.

Production‑oriented individual who is self‑motivated, collaborative, and possesses strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound civil site designs.

Hands‑on experience in site development and drainage/grading projects.

Preference given to local candidates with understanding and relationships within the Kentucky/Tennessee market.

Bachelor’s degree.

A minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects.

Project Engineering and Project Management experience.
