Head of Project Management

This established steel contractor operates across structural steel and miscellaneous metals , handling projects from design and fabrication through to erection .

Someone with the structural steel experience to take ownership, manage multiple projects and grow with the operation.

You’ll take projects from turnover through closeout, working across:

Project financials & cost tracking
Site visits & project meetings

The typical project sweet spot is around $3M-$10M , with the wider project portfolio ranging from smaller packages through to projects valued at $40M .

You’ll also have the opportunity to manage multiple projects simultaneously , with strong internal support from engineering, detailing, fabrication and erection teams.

The first year is structured around development rather than throwing you in at the deep end.

Learn the processes, systems and procedures while getting exposure to estimating, change orders and smaller projects.

6 Months: Work alongside an experienced Project Manager in a mentoring/parallel capacity.

12 Months: Take ownership of projects independently, with internal support and an increasing workload.

The company also invests in additional training, conferences and individual development plans.

Project management experience within construction
Experience managing project financials, schedules and customer communication
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Willingness to travel when projects require it

A Construction Management, Engineering or related degree is preferred — but practical steel experience is key.
