Graphic Art/Design Illustrator

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) invites candidates to apply for a graphic artist position in the Communications Division to support a variety of organizations around the laboratory.
The artist will produce timely designs to illustrate and illuminate communications materials for distribution to the US Department of Energy (DOE) and both general and targeted audiences. Under minimal supervision the candidate will develop thought-provoking designs using modern tools and techniques.
Work proficiently in software programs including Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Work closely with leadership and internal customers to apply graphics expertise to produce timely and visually-effective communications tools for distribution to internal and external stakeholders including co-workers and peers, industry, academia, government sponsors and the public at large.
Participate in planning for and production of significant deliverables, such as annual reports, brochures, digital signage, posters, infographics, presentations, R&D achievement sheets and collateral for high-profile visits.
Ensure compliance with environment, safety, health, and quality program requirements.
Maintain a strong commitment to the implementation and perpetuation of values and ethics.
Follow internal review processes to ensure highest quality products.

A bachelor's degree in art, graphic design, or related field with a minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience.

Proficient in multi-page layout and design. Experience in animation and/or 2D/3D modeling a plus.
