Mental Health Counselor Bachelors

Under the administrative supervision of the Program Director or designee, this position is responsible for providing psychosocial, rehabilitation, and recovery-oriented services for adults.
The position is responsible for counseling and aiding clients and families requiring assistance in dealing with substance abuse problems, such as alcohol or drug abuse. Functions as a Personal Service Coordinator for a case load of dually diagnosed clients.
Advocating for clients in all areas of treatment and helping them apply for and receive services.
Formulating a program for treatment and rehabilitation of the client, including facilitation of support groups.
Referring clients to other support services as needed, such as medical evaluation and treatment, social services, and employment services.
Monitoring the condition of the client to evaluate the success of therapy, and adapting treatment as needed.
Safely transporting clients and other passengers to and from appointments and activities, and other program business relevant to the position using own personal vehicle.
Driving on agency business using personal vehicle; may be required to transport clients, equipment, protected health information (PHI), and/or confidential personnel or TPCP agency information.
Providing support and training for other staff members as needed.
Adhering to and upholding the policies and procedures of Turning Point Community Programs.
Education, Training, and Experience: A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above is through the possession of a CADAC license and varied experience working with dually diagnosed adults (substance abuse and psychiatric disability).
Valid CADAC license California driver's license & current vehicle insurance/registration if driving; and, Reliable means of transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspection if more than five years old, excluding all modes of two-wheeled transport, inclusive of bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Compensation: $24.00 - $25.98 hourly.
