Rutgers University‑Camden’s Division Impact & Community Engagement (DICE) is seeking a Program Coordinator I to support the coordination, daily operations, and implementation of the Rutgers IGNITE 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) afterschool and summer programs, including the Children’s Defense Fund Freedom School. Reporting to the Senior Program Administrator and Director of Education Partnerships, this position serves more than 200 students during the school year and up to 100 students during the summer.

The Program Coordinator I will help ensure program quality, safety, and alignment with 21st CCLC guidelines by overseeing daily site operations, serving as a school‑site liaison, supervising staff and volunteers, coordinating recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, training, payroll, parent/family events, and school‑community initiatives.

The Program Coordinator I also supports data management, compliance, reporting, program development, and quality improvement efforts. Responsibilities include maintaining attendance records, student data, academic records, surveys, compliance documentation, licensing materials, and student files; supporting reporting through EZ Reports, EWEG, NJCCIS, ETRS, and 21APR; assisting with compliance reviews, licensing inspections, monitoring visits, quarterly reporting, and grant continuation documentation; and supporting staff professional development, trainings, academic alignment, student worker observations, and coaching.

This is a grant‑funded position contingent upon the availability of funds to support it.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in education, youth development, sociology, social work, public policy, or a related field.

Minimum 2 years of experience in youth programming, K‑12 education, or community organizations.

Supervisory experience (student staff, volunteers, or part‑time employees).

Strong organizational, communication, and data‑management skills.

Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, and experience with data reporting systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in a related field.

Experience with Camden youth, families, or schools.

Familiarity with Camden City School District.

Experience with curriculum or academic support program development.

Spanish speaking preferred but not required.

Equipment Utilized

Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive/Docs, Canva, Adobe Acrobat, EWEG, NJCCIS, ETRS, 21APR, and student data systems.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Frequent walking, standing, stair climbing, and carrying up to 25 pounds. Site visits may occur in schools without central air. Requires flexibility, including evening and weekend hours based on program needs.
