Responsibilities

Provide perioperative nursing care for adult and pediatric patients across multiple surgical specialties, including general, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, and spine

Scrub and circulate in the operating room, maintain sterile technique, anticipate instrument needs, and assist the surgical team throughout procedures

Monitor patient status before, during, and after surgery; assist anesthesia and respond to intraoperative events with composure and clear communication

Document patient care activities, equipment usage, and postoperative handoffs; ensure patient safety and adherence to best-practice protocols

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, circulating staff, and post-anesthesia care to optimize outcomes; participate in turnover and room readiness

May float to another OR area as needed to support service lines; comply with scheduling requirements including on-call and weekend/holiday coverage

Requirements

2+ years of inpatient OR experience; level 1 trauma experience preferred

Scrub experience required

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Competent in at least five of the listed surgical service areas; able to adapt to a multi-specialty OR environment

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume OR setting and communicate effectively with the surgical team
