Paramedic Position at Mount Carmel East

the Paramedic will provide patient care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person's physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. Functions within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.

This Paramedic position will be working in our Trauma II Emergency Department at Mount Carmel East on mid-shift three 12-hour shifts per week from 10am - 10:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays.

Initiates respiratory interventions including oxygen therapy and assistance with preparation for intubation per physician order or protocol

Initiates and discontinues intravenous lines and intraosseous (IO) access as requested by the physician, including use of the ultrasound machine

Transports and monitors stable telemetry and non-telemetry patients

Maintains professional radio communication with incoming EMS units

Performs treatments and procedures according to approved standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Administers medications, according to the organization's standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.

Initiates appropriate emergency procedures within the scope of practice under the direction of the physician/other LIP.

Maintains equipment appropriate to the care environment.

Performs visual acuity, eye irrigations and equipment setups

Performs CLIA-waived testing as assigned.

Performs phlebotomy and obtains lab specimens as ordered.

Performs Phlebotomy

Participates in hazardous materials or disaster events

Successful completion of an approved course(s) which includes basic patient care skills, EKG and phlebotomy required

Current Paramedic Certification in the State of Ohio. ACLS required, Current BLS Healthcare Provider required, PALS preferred

Experience: 2-4 years previous patient care experience and/or technical education in health-related field preferred
