Registered Nurse - Emergency - Full Time - Evenings - Weekends

Charge Nurse (RN) - 2nd Shift

Location: Lake Villa, IL, US, 60046 Position Type: Full Time Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2nd shift from 1:30pm-10:00pm with flex scheduling or weekends as needed.

Charge Nurses are responsible for distributing work flow in the department, developing and posting shift schedules, organizing and assisting with staff meetings, coordinating client care and implementation of treatment plans by nursing staff, monitoring client plan of care and evaluating clients' conditions, detecting any issues that could result in injuries or other difficulties for clients or staff members and guiding nursing staff through appropriate course of action, reviewing client records and auditing client medical charts, EMAR, physician order transcriptions to ensure contractual and local, state and federal regulations compliance, training, developing, monitoring, and evaluating performance of nursing staff, contributing to development and implementation of procedures and processes related to client care, providing patient/family education, monitoring site medical equipment and inventory, initiating repairs, ordering medical supplies and medication, and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: Associate degree is required. Bachelor degree in Nursing or health related field preferred. Current Registered Nurse license as required by the State. Three to five (3-5) years of progressively responsible nursing experience, preferably including some supervisory experience and at least 1 year of experience in psychiatric and/or substance abuse field. Comprehensive knowledge of theories, principles and concepts of nursing and nursing principles in order to plan, evaluate, and provide expertise in the development, implementation, and management of an effective nursing program. Working knowledge of JCAHO requirements and standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). High analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail. Strong organizational skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to quickly and accurately assess clients' conditions. Ability to efficiently handle emergencies and remain calm in stressful situations. A caring and sympathetic demeanor.

Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally. Ability to speak in order to conduct training sessions, exchange information, and consult with others. Ability to record and proofread required information and documentation. Ability to respond to telephones and pages, and hear speech.

Compensation (based on experience and credentials) : Range begins at $34.63 - $53.00 per hour. Team members in eligible nursing roles working 2nd shift (between 2:00 PM and 12:00 AM CST) receive: An additional $2.00/hour Monday through Friday. An additional $4.00/hour on Saturdays and Sundays.
