Licensed Practical Nurse / Doctor's Nurse

Licensed Practical Nurses Assist the medical staff in caring for patients by completing the following responsibilities: Interview patient about current problems, medications and allergies and review medical record for pertinent previous and current information.

Participate in patient treatment regimen including administering medications.

Establish and document patient treatment regimen under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Perform routine immunizations, nebulizer treatments and visual acuity testing.

Assist in phlebotomy such as identify patient, check requisitions and evaluate infusion site.

Check IV function and patient comfort and discontinue IV at appropriate time as ordered by physician.

Maintain adequate inventory of examination room supplies.

Participate in the orientation and training of new personnel.

Adhere to professional standards, follow policies and procedures and abide by federal, state, and local requirements as well as Joint Commission standards.
