Description:
We are seeking an experienced RN for a MedSurg/Tele unit.
The unit has 10 beds with an average daily census of 8 patients.
Patient types include chest pain, syncope, and angina.
The RN will be responsible for general Med/Tele skillset.
Skills include stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, and NGT placement.
Experience with drain/tube management such as Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, and foley insertion/management is required.
Medication management includes cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and IV fluids.
The ratio is RN: 1:5 and CNA: 1:10.
Support within the department includes supervisors and charge RNs, with resource RNs assisting with admissions and discharges.
RT and Clientist support are available 24/7.
Phlebotomy assistance is a combined effort between RNs and an IV team.
Technology used includes EMR systems, IV pumps, and medication dispensing units.
Travel nurses may be required to float to other nursing units based on patient care needs and staffing demands.
Flexibility to float within region needs is required.
Travel nurses will be paid for time spent traveling between facilities if floating mid-shift.
Weekend rotation is expected every other weekend.
Holiday work is required, with travelers working 75% of holidays.
Requests for time off can be approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays.
